Iran Reveals New Map of Strait of Hormuz Under Military Oversight
On Monday, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council officially announced the establishment of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), a new organization aimed at overseeing activities in the Strait of Hormuz amid rising tensions with the United States.

The council stated that the PGSA, which was launched on May 6, will offer “real-time updates on the #Hormuz_Strait operations and the latest developments.”

In a separate statement, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson mentioned that Iranian and Omani technical teams convened in Oman to negotiate a safe transit mechanism through the Strait of Hormuz.
The spokesperson emphasized that Iran continues to communicate with Oman and other relevant parties, with talks expected to carry on next week at the expert level with Omani counterparts.

According to the spokesperson, the PGSA has been created to implement and manage the transit mechanism being coordinated with Oman.

In a post on X, the PGSA announced the launch of its official account, stating: “The official X account of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (#PGSA) is now live. Follow us for real-time updates on the #Hormuz_Strait operations and latest developments.”

In another update, Reuters reported that Pakistan has shared a revised proposal from Iran with the United States, aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, according to a Pakistani source, even as peace discussions seem to remain at a standstill.
