Today’s Chanakya exit poll indicates a decisive majority for DMK+ in Tamil Nadu, while TVK makes a notable entrance.

The exit poll by Today’s Chanakya shows a strong lead for the DMK+ coalition in Tamil Nadu, projecting 125 seats (±11), well ahead of TVK with 63 (±11) and AIADMK+ at 45 (±11).

DMK+ 39% ± 3% 125 ± 11
TVK 30% ± 3% 63 ± 11
Others 4% ± 3% 1 ± 1

Vote share predictions indicate 39% (±3%) for DMK+, 30% (±3%) for TVK, and 27% (±3%) for AIADMK+, reflecting a solid advantage for the ruling coalition.

Interestingly, today’s Chanakya exit poll indicates that actor-turned-politician Vijay’s involvement in Tamil Nadu’s electoral scene has already begun to show effects, as projections suggest that his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), may rise as a notable player in the state’s political framework.

The poll also reveals DMK+ leading among major caste demographics, including BC, MBC, SC, Muslim, and Christian voters, indicating widespread electoral backing.
Voting for all 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu wrapped up on April 23 with an unprecedented voter turnout exceeding 85%, the highest since independence, according to the Election Commission of India.

This uptick in voter engagement creates a backdrop for a closely monitored contest, with vote counting set for May 4.

The participation rate markedly surpasses past records, including the 78% noted in 2011, reversing a decline observed in the 2016 and 2021 elections, reflecting rekindled voter enthusiasm across the state.
