Sarfaraz appointed as Pakistan's Test coach for the series against Bangladesh.
Pakistan has appointed former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as the head coach for their test team ahead of the two-match series against Bangladesh next month, as announced by the country’s cricket board on Saturday.

Following the resignation of Australian Jason Gillespie as Pakistan’s red-ball coach in December, Aaqib Javed and Azhar Mahmood have temporarily managed the team, which is captained by Shan Masood, who will retain his role during the series in Bangladesh.

Sarfaraz, who captained Pakistan to victory in the Champions Trophy in 2017, has been involved with the under-19 team as well as the Pakistan Shaheens since retiring.
The squad for the Bangladesh series, starting in Dhaka on May 8, includes four uncapped players: Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, bringing the total to 16 members.

Umar Gul, a former teammate of Sarfaraz, will join the coaching staff as the bowling coach.
