FIFA Reports That World Cup 2026 Global Sponsorship Packages Are Fully Sold.
The groups and match-ups for this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup have been announced following the draw at the Home of FIFA in Zürich, Switzerland.

This marks the second editions of both tournaments, which will be held in Qatar and Morocco, respectively, with an expanded format. The men’s competition now features 48 teams, while the women’s includes 24. This increase has created opportunities, resulting in 10 debutants across both tournaments thus far.

“That is precisely why FIFA opted to expand the [FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup] to 24 teams. We believe there is talent in every corner of the globe,” stated FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“It simply requires the chance to shine. And with the tournament now occurring annually, there are more opportunities than ever for that to happen.
“Women’s football has immense potential left to cultivate. Although significant progress has been made, FIFA is committed to furthering the growth of the women’s game. The FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2026 will play a crucial role in that development, inspiring girls worldwide to engage in the beautiful game.”

The tenth edition of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from 17 October to 7 November 2026.

On the other hand, the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026, marking the 21st edition of the tournament, is scheduled to occur from November 19 to December 13, 2026.

“I want to congratulate all 48 teams competing at the magnificent Aspire Zone in Qatar for the opportunity to be called U-17 world champions. The success of last year’s [FIFA Under-17 World Cup] was evident,” Mr. Infantino remarked. “There were remarkable matches and moments in the inaugural 48-team tournament, and three out of five debutants advanced to the knockout stages.

“The quality of football displayed on the field and the fantastic atmosphere, along with impeccable organization off the field, reaffirmed FIFA’s decision to expand the tournament, allowing more teams than ever to participate on the global stage. I am confident this year will be similar, as even more new contenders will be facing off against the best in the world.”
