Vinícius Júnior nets stunning goal in Brazil's World Cup opener against Morocco, ending in a draw.
Brazil’s Vinícius Júnior quickly made an impact during his second World Cup, delivering a standout moment.

With Brazil behind Morocco more than 30 minutes into their tournament opener on Saturday, the soon-to-be 26-year-old left winger passed to Bruno Guimarães, pulling in three defenders before taking matters into his own hands.

Vinícius skillfully maneuvered around Neil El Aynaoui and unleashed a right-footed shot that sliced through Morocco’s defence, finding the far corner of the net past goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
This goal energized the crowd of over 75,000 enthusiastic yellow-clad Seleção supporters, contributing to a 1-1 draw in the only group stage match of the tournament featuring teams ranked in the top 10 by FIFA.

The goal marked Vinícius’ first in a direct encounter against Achraf Hakimi, whether internationally or in club play with Real Madrid. Hakimi, who has served as Morocco’s captain, has been with Paris Saint-Germain since 2021.

Vinícius netted his first goal in his 50th appearance for Brazil’s national team.
