Following a skirmish near the counting center at Asansol Engineering College, chairs and vehicles were damaged, according to news agency ANI.
Security forces were dispatched to manage the situation.
To disperse the crowds after the altercation, the security personnel employed lathi-charges.
Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate Commissioner Pranav Kumar stated that a political party camp was damaged. “We are identifying those responsible for the vandalism,” he remarked, as reported by ANI.

Clashes between BJP and TMC supporters
Meanwhile, in Dinhata, Cooch Behar, altercations broke out involving TMC and BJP members.
Here as well, central forces had to resort to lathi-charges.
“The law and order situation is stable and peaceful. There are no disruptions anticipated – everything remains calm. Forces are on standby should any issues arise,” DIG Jalpaiguri Anjali Singh stated, as per ANI.
Another altercation took place at Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas at the Rastraguru Surendranath counting center, where security personnel were stationed.

In a different incident, a TMC office was set ablaze in Jamuria (Paschim Bardhaman district), further escalating tensions in the region.
Asansol assembly election results
The Election Commission announced that in the Asansol Dakshin constituency, BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul triumphed with 119,582 votes, securing a margin of 40,839 votes. TMC’s Tapas Banerjee followed behind.
In Asansol Uttar, BJP’s Krishnendu Mukherjee won with 104,516 votes, defeating TMC’s Moloy Ghatak, who garnered 92,901 votes, by a margin of 11,615 votes.
Barrackpur assembly election results
BJP’s Kaustuv Bagchi claimed victory with 78,466 votes, surpassing TMC candidate Raj Chakraborty (Raju) by 15,822 votes.
Dinhata assembly election results
BJP’s Ajay Ray won with 138,255 votes, defeating TMC’s Udayan Guha by 17,447 votes.
Cooch Behar election results
In Coochbehar Dakshin, BJP’s Rathindra Bose emerged victorious with 108,482 votes, defeating TMC’s Avijit De Bhowmik by 23,284 votes.
In Coochbehar Uttar, BJP’s Sukumar Ray won with 155,327 votes, besting TMC’s Partha Pratim Ray by a margin of 70,384 votes.
