Timken India Achieves BIS Licenses for Essential Bearing Products at Multiple Facilities
Timken India Ltd announced on Monday that it has received four Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) licenses for its bearing products, enhancing its capabilities in manufacturing, quality, and regulatory compliance across various product categories and production locations.

The company obtained BIS licenses for cylindrical roller bearing (CRB) roller production at its new facility in Bharuch, as well as for CRB and tapered roller bearing (TRB) production at both its Bharuch and Jamshedpur plants.

Timken India remarked that it is the first firm in India to secure BIS licenses for both CRB and TRB rollers across different manufacturing sites.
“Our teams have put in immense effort to attain this significant recognition,” stated Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Koul. “Achieving four BIS licenses and being pioneers in India for obtaining CRB and TRB roller licenses across multiple plants highlights our dedication to the highest quality standards, engineering excellence, and customer service.”
The company noted that these certifications will enable customers to source bearings compliant with national standards, streamline procurement for regulated projects, and enhance operational reliability.

Timken India also mentioned that BIS-certified bearings are anticipated to lower technical qualification hurdles for OEMs, infrastructure projects, and other regulated sectors. Additionally, certified manufacturing across facilities will boost supply assurance and reduce lead times.

The firm also stated its intention to continue investing in testing, process controls, and manufacturing capacity to meet the rising demand for BIS-certified products.

On July 13, shares of Timken India Ltd closed 1.09% lower at ₹3,170 on the NSE, a decline of ₹35 from the previous day’s close.
