Shakira calls on Ugandan dance troupe Ghetto Kids to showcase their talents at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
Shakira is set to co-headline the inaugural half-time show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey Stadium on July 19, and she will share the stage with the globally recognized Ugandan dance group Ghetto Kids, consisting of street and orphaned children.

She stated that the Ghetto Kids were her top choice to perform alongside her during the World Cup final half-time show. In discussing “Dai Dai,” the official FIFA World Cup 2026 song featuring Burna Boy, Shakira revealed that she had personally invited the Ghetto Kids to join her performance at the event.

“I’ve already invited the Ghetto Kids from Uganda,” she mentioned in an Instagram video, encouraging fans and children worldwide to create dance videos with the official song and share them online.
“I want that moment to be special for all of us. I want it to be unforgettable. That’s why I’ve decided to invite as many of you as I can to dance with me at the finals,” she continued.

The Ghetto Kids, an NGO and dance troupe based in Kampala, Uganda, is dedicated to supporting orphaned and underprivileged children through dance, education, and performing arts. The group gained fame after their lively street performances went viral on social media, leading to international recognition, including an appearance on America’s Got Talent.

Members of the troupe shared their enthusiasm about performing with Shakira, with eight-year-old Busingye Josephine Daniella telling news agency AFP, “We can’t wait to show the world what we are!”

Sixteen-year-old Ssegirinyi Madwanah remarked, “Getting outside the country… and performing on one of the biggest stages… it feels good and opens up many opportunities.”

Kavuma Dauda, the founder of the NGO, described the invitation as a ‘huge opportunity’ for both the children and the organization.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to commence on June 11 and will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
