Policybazaar introduces yearly domestic travel insurance with premiums starting from ₹1,500.
Policybazaar has introduced an annual domestic travel insurance plan tailored for Indian travellers, enhancing its travel insurance offerings as domestic tourism and inter-city travel maintain strong growth.

The Gurugram-based insurance platform stated that this annual policy caters to frequent travellers and provides coverage for multiple trips throughout the year, whether by flights, trains, buses, or road transport, all under a single policy.

Unlike single-trip insurance options, the annual plan removes the necessity for travellers to acquire separate coverage for each trip.
Manas Kapoor, Head of Travel Insurance at Policybazaar, highlighted that domestic travel in India is increasingly common for work, leisure, and family-related purposes, emphasizing the importance of travel protection within the country.
“Today’s domestic journeys are more frequent than ever—be it for work, family, or leisure—and they are equally susceptible to risks,” Kapoor remarked.

As per the company, the policy encompasses personal accident cover up to ₹3 lakh, hospitalization coverage of up to ₹1 lakh during travel, compensation for lost checked-in baggage, and assistance for trip cancellations due to unforeseen changes in travel plans.

Additionally, the plan covers specific home-related risks, including theft while the policyholder is away.

This launch coincides with sustained domestic travel demand amid geopolitical uncertainties related to the West Asia conflict and rising costs of outbound travel, with hospitality companies reporting ongoing interest in leisure, spiritual, and short-haul travel within India.

The annual domestic travel insurance policy starts at a premium of approximately ₹1,500 per member, targeting frequent flyers, business travellers, families, and regular commuters, as stated by the company.
