A 5.0 magnitude quake hit multiple southeastern regions in Turkey on Saturday morning, reportedly causing no injuries or damage, according to the nation’s disaster management agency.
“No significant issues have been reported after the 5 magnitude earthquake that struck at 6:20 AM (0320 GMT) in the Battalgazi district of Malatya province, which was felt in Malatya, Elazig, Adiyaman, Tunceli, and Sanliurfa. Our teams are actively working on the ground,” the agency AFAD stated.
Turkey is intersected by numerous geological fault lines, which have in the past led to severe disasters in the region.
