The discussions covered existing and emerging challenges in counterterrorism, including tackling violent extremism and radicalization, combating terrorism financing, preventing the misuse of technology for terrorist activities, the link between transnational organized crime and terrorism, and the global mobility of terrorists.
The session was jointly led by Dr. Vinod Bahade, the Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism) from India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Hicham Baali, the Head of the National Judicial Police Brigade at Morocco’s Directorate General of National Police.
Both nations firmly and unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism. A statement from the government also expressed condemnation of the terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the incident that occurred near the Red Fort in New Delhi on 10 November 2025.
The two sides agreed to schedule the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in Morocco at a mutually convenient time. They further discussed enhancing bilateral counterterrorism collaboration through information sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices, including improved coordination within multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, FATF, and GCTF.
