BHEL stated that the claim pertains to amounts due under a contract for supply and services related to 2×800 MW units and associated works for the Yeramaras Thermal Power Station. The company has approached the court as the plaintiff, with Raichur Power Corporation Ltd acting as the defendant in this matter.
Last month, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd reported securing a ₹13,500 crore order from NTPC Ltd for the main plant package of the 3×800 MW Telangana Stage-II supercritical thermal power project. The Notification of Award (NOA) pertains to the project located in the Peddapalli district of Telangana.

The scope of work encompasses design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the main plant package, including boiler, turbine, and generator (BTG) components, along with associated civil and structural works.
BHEL indicated that the contract was awarded through an international competitive bidding process. The company emerged as the successful bidder for the project in October 2024 and received a limited notice to proceed in November 2024 to commence basic engineering work. The PSU informed the exchanges that the project is expected to be completed within 62 months from the award date.
Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd closed at ₹316.70, reflecting an increase of ₹7.65, or 2.48%, on the BSE.
