The two companies stated that the collaboration merges Tata Communications’ strengths in AI, cloud, and communications with TTBS’ broad distribution network for SMBs. This initiative will deliver a sovereign, integrated AI stack, featuring AI-driven voice agents connected to dedicated fixed-line numbers.
This partnership seeks to simplify enterprise-grade AI solutions, making them more accessible and easier for SMBs to implement, as per a press release issued on Tuesday, July 28.

The AI-driven voice agents will manage customer interactions, address routine inquiries, schedule appointments, handle follow-ups, process orders, and provide round-the-clock customer support.
Powered by Tata Communications’ conversational AI platform, Commotion, and hosted on the Vayu AI Cloud, this solution utilizes TTBS’ foundational voice infrastructure.

The platform is designed to cater to various industry use cases, including mobility and healthcare. For example, transport companies can utilize AI voice agents to assist customers with ticket bookings, reservation modifications, and journey information, while healthcare professionals can employ them to schedule appointments, share test results, and support patient aftercare.
Tata Communications and TTBS also expressed their goal to democratize access to advanced AI infrastructure for over 60 million SMBs in India.
The companies anticipate that this partnership will eventually evolve beyond voice AI, expanding into a broader range of AI-powered solutions and digital services for Indian businesses and, eventually, the global SMB market.
Shares of Tata Communications were trading near their daily highs at ₹1,762.80, up 1.59% as of 12:36 PM. The stock has appreciated by over 15% over the past six months, despite a nearly 3% decline thus far in 2026.
