Andhra Pradesh's AI-Enhanced CCTV360 Aids in the Recovery of 80 Stolen Vehicles in Just Four Months
Officials stated that Andhra Pradesh’s AI-driven RTGS CCTV360 surveillance system has enabled police to recover 80 stolen vehicles, locate 73 missing persons, and apprehend 52 suspects linked to various criminal activities in the past four months.

The government announced that the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) has connected over 14,750 CCTV cameras throughout the state via the CCTV360 platform, allowing police to monitor vehicle movements, identify travel patterns, issue real-time alerts, and expedite investigations using artificial intelligence.

“Over the last four months, RTGS CCTV360 has aided law enforcement in reclaiming 80 stolen vehicles, locating 73 missing individuals, and arresting 52 culprits involved in multiple criminal cases,” the government mentioned in a Monday press release.
The government highlighted that the CCTV360 platform is revolutionizing law enforcement in Andhra Pradesh by facilitating quicker investigations, enhancing crime detection, and bolstering public safety through innovative surveillance technology.

In a recent incident in Guntur, a scooter taken from the Pattabhipuram police station area was tracked down after the vehicle’s registration number was entered into the CCTV360 system.

The AI technology identified the scooter passing through a major intersection in Guntur and generated a real-time alert, allowing police to apprehend the suspect.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to stealing seven additional vehicles, helping law enforcement resolve multiple theft cases with a single inquiry, the press release noted.

The government also reported that the platform was instrumental in locating a six-month-old infant kidnapped from a pavement in Chirala, Bapatla district, while the child’s mother slept.

By analyzing footage from various locations, investigators traced the suspect’s movements, resulting in the arrest within 24 hours and the successful recovery of the infant.

The government explained that once a stolen vehicle’s registration number is uploaded into the system, artificial intelligence continually tracks its movement across the integrated CCTV network and promptly alerts police whenever the vehicle passes a connected surveillance point, which significantly shortens investigation times and enhances recovery rates.

CCTV360 has facilitated investigations statewide, including vehicle theft cases in Vijayawada, Nandigama, and other areas, and has aided in resolving numerous long-standing cases.

The platform has also become a vital resource in missing person inquiries. Recently, police located a woman who had been missing for an extended period in Mylavaram, found a missing girl the same day a report was filed at the SR Peta police station, and tracked the movements of a missing person’s vehicle in Reddigudem, allowing officers to safely locate the individual.

The government emphasized that the achievements of RTGS CCTV360 illustrate how artificial intelligence, backed by strong public infrastructure and responsive law enforcement, can enhance governance.
