As tensions rise between Israel and Iran, India, the US, the UK, and other nations release travel warnings.
Following days of strikes and counterstrikes between Israel and Iran, with no resolution in sight, several countries, including India, the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom, have issued travel advisories for their citizens in the region.

What the US said

On Monday, the US updated its travel advisory to “do not travel” to Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank due to the escalating conflict. The advisory noted: “The security situation in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, is unpredictable. US citizens are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary steps to enhance their security awareness, as security incidents, including mortar and rocket fire and armed UAV intrusions, can occur suddenly.”
India

India has urged its citizens in Israel to avoid non-essential activities and remain close to designated shelters.

For individuals in Iran, the Indian government has recommended they adhere to local safety protocols and maintain contact with Indian embassies. Citizens are advised to be vigilant in the rapidly changing security landscape.

“Due to the current situation in Iran, all Indian nationals & persons of Indian origin are requested to stay alert, limit unnecessary movements, follow the embassy’s social media updates, and heed safety protocols advised by local authorities,” the Indian embassy in Iran stated on X.

“All Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) who can relocate from Tehran independently are advised to find a safe location outside the city,” the Embassy of India tweeted.

Russia

Russia is among the leading nations advising its citizens against travel to Iran and Israel. Citizens are urged to stay away from military zones, public gatherings, and crowded areas that could be targets, according to Russian officials.

The United Kingdom

The UK has advised its citizens to avoid travel to Iran. Regarding Israel, the UK stated individuals should refrain from non-essential trips to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Those currently in the two countries are encouraged to remain near shelters, keep updated on local news, and follow governmental instructions.

Australia

Australia has issued a clear ‘Do Not Travel’ advisory for Israel, Iran, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories due to escalating tensions in West Asia. For those already in the region, the government recommends remaining close to designated safety zones, staying informed, and avoiding unnecessary movements.

Canada

Canada has advised its citizens against traveling to Israel, Iran, Gaza, and the West Bank, issuing an ‘Avoid All Travel’ warning due to the intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran.

The government has urged those in the region to stay indoors, avoid military or crowded areas, and register with the Registration of Canadians Abroad service for emergency alerts.

France

Similar to India, the US, and Australia, France has cautioned its citizens against traveling to Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and the Palestinian territories. Authorities have prohibited all trips to Iran and discouraged travel to Israel unless essential, such as for family, diplomatic, or humanitarian reasons.

Germany

Germany has cautioned its citizens against traveling to Israel and the Palestinian territories, advising them to steer clear of the escalating conflict. The Foreign Ministry highlighted the increasing threat of missile and drone attacks following Israel’s strikes on military and nuclear facilities in Iran.

Pakistan

In its travel advisory, Pakistan has urged its citizens to avoid travel to Iran, particularly advising religious pilgrims who visit annually. For those already in Iran, Pakistan has established a 24/7 crisis management center and embassy support, urging citizens to return home when conditions permit.

Bangladesh

In light of Israel’s prolonged bombing of Gaza and recent attacks in Iran, Bangladesh has reinstated its travel ban on the country. The restriction stating, “This passport is valid for all countries of the world except Israel,” which was lifted in 2021, has been reintroduced.
