Akasa Air Receives Its 40th Aircraft, Increasing its Boeing 737 MAX Fleet
On Saturday, July 4, Akasa Air welcomed its 40th aircraft, marking a significant milestone as it expands its domestic and international routes.

As reported by PTI, the newest addition is a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, with the registration VT-YBQ. This year, Akasa Air has already received nine new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Vinay Dube, founder and CEO of Akasa Air, highlighted the importance of this delivery for the airline.
“There is tremendous excitement surrounding the 40th aircraft, marking a significant milestone for us,” Dube said to PTI.

Delivery flight

The delivery journey for this aircraft commenced in Seattle, USA, with a stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland, before reaching Bengaluru from Cairo, Egypt.

Since launching commercial operations in August 2022, Akasa Air now serves 28 domestic and seven international destinations. The airline has ordered 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of its fleet growth strategy.
