Make the most of AI and technology to enhance GST and tax collections: Andhra CM advises officials.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday urged officials to fully leverage technology and AI for enhancing GST, other tax revenues, and overall revenue administration.

He instructed officials to generate monthly economic reports to evaluate the State Gross Domestic Product (GSDP).

”Maximize the use of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to boost GST and other tax revenues, along with overall revenue management,” he stated in an official press release.
He stressed that regular economic evaluations at both the state and field levels would aid in tracking progress towards GSDP goals through monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly statistical measures.

During a review meeting on GSDP targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at his camp office in Undavalli, Guntur district, the CM provided direction on achieving departmental KPIs for the financial year 2026-27 at the state, district, and mandal levels.

He highlighted the necessity to enhance indicators that are below the national average and align them with the performance benchmarks of top-performing states.

Naidu also directed officials to implement a scoring system that evaluates performance not only by target attainment but also by genuine growth outcomes.

Noting the economic influence of infrastructure investments, Naidu remarked that each rupee spent on infrastructure could potentially generate up to 3.5 times the economic activity.

Additionally, he instructed the establishment of an AI-driven task force to monitor economic developments in real time and support data-informed governance aligned with the Swarna Andhra – 2047 vision (golden Andhra).

The TDP leader called for concentrated efforts to improve Gross Value Addition (GVA) across all sectors.

He emphasized the crucial role of utilizing manufacturing, mining, trade, transportation, and significant infrastructure projects such as Amaravati, Polavaram, ports, and airports to create a robust multiplier effect on the state’s economy, as noted in the press release.
