West Bengal 2026 Exit Poll: Today’s Chanakya Forecasts 192 Seats for BJP, Challenges Ahead for Mamata

The 2026 West Bengal exit poll by Today’s Chanakya indicates a significant transformation in the state’s political dynamics, forecasting a decisive victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The pollster estimates that the BJP may secure 192 seats in the 294-member Assembly, surpassing the crucial 147-seat majority threshold.

The ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), headed by Mamata Banerjee and in power for the last 15 years, is projected to secure around 100 seats. Other political parties are expected to have a minimal impact, winning only a few seats.

The vote share forecasts further highlight this trend. The BJP is anticipated to lead with 48% ± 3% of the votes, while TMC+ is estimated to garner 38% ± 3%. Collectively, other parties are projected to receive 14% ± 3% of the vote share.

In response to the exit poll predictions, Mamata Banerjee dismissed them as tactics aimed at “shaking the confidence” of TMC supporters. With a defiant tone, she highlighted that exit polls have often been inaccurate in the past and expressed unwavering trust in the electorate of West Bengal.

Banerjee asserted that the TMC is on track to reclaim power and establish the “Ma Mati Manush” government once again, irrespective of the reported poll results.
