Tamil Nadu Elections 2026: Assets and Holdings of MK Stalin, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and Vijay
Tamil Nadu is preparing for a high-stakes electoral showdown on April 23. What initially appeared to be a two-party race dominated by the DMK and AIADMK has transformed into a more dynamic, multi-party contest.

The longstanding rivalry between these two parties remains crucial, but the entry of actor-turned-politician Vijay has introduced new energy to the competition. His participation has brought a level of unpredictability, turning numerous constituencies into critical battlegrounds.

Tamil Nadu polls 2026: Key leaders and constituencies in focus
Chief Minister MK Stalin, representing the DMK, aims to bolster his position by leveraging his governance record. He is once again contesting from Kolathur, his established stronghold. Conversely, AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami, also the face of the NDA alliance in the state, is running from his home constituency, Edappadi in Salem district.

Competing against them, Vijay has entered the political arena by running in two constituencies—Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East—marking his political debut. His involvement has become one of the most talked-about elements of this election. With a substantial fan base, especially among younger voters, his entry is anticipated to affect traditional voting behaviors.

As Tamil Nadu approaches the polls, the emergence of this third significant contender has amplified the competition, making this election one of the most closely monitored political battles in recent memory.
