Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Sets New World Record with 11-Ball Fifty Against Sri Lanka in the Final
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, set a new List A record for the quickest half-century, reaching the 50-run mark in just 11 balls against Sri Lanka A during the tri-nation final at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday.

Sooryavanshi concluded his innings with a remarkable 94 runs from 29 balls, smashing 10 fours and eight sixes, putting the Men in Blue in a dominant position in the tournament finale where he had previously struggled to score.

Opening the batting alongside Priyansh Arya, Sooryavanshi made a spectacular start by hitting a boundary off his very first delivery.
The left-handed batsman achieved the 50-run milestone in his signature style, hitting five fours and six sixes to accomplish the feat.

Mohamed Shiraz and Sahan Arachchige faced the brunt of the young talent’s explosive start, as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) star helped India A reach an impressive 132 runs in just nine overs.

Sooryavanshi entered this tournament following a phenomenal IPL season, where he secured the Orange Cap, the Emerging Player of the Year award, and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors.

He has also received his first call-up to the Indian squad for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, starting later this month.

Despite his potential, the batter struggled to convert starts into significant scores throughout this tri-nation series. Earlier this week, he was involved in a physical altercation with Sri Lankan players after they dismissed him following India’s Super Over defeat in a league-stage match.

While he faced considerable criticism for this incident, he has made a strong comeback, ensuring he heads into his inaugural India assignment on the back of an impressive performance.
