Verizon CEO Dan Schulman announced on Friday that the company has entered into a contract with Google worth over $1 billion for dark fiber connectivity to support the tech giant’s data centers.

“We anticipate other announcements by year-end that combined are likely to result in several billion dollars in revenue over the next few years,” Schulman said during Verizon’s post-earnings call.
