Trump did not offer additional details regarding the incident, including the crash location, the crew’s condition, or the nature of the intended response.
This statement arises amidst escalating tensions in the region and places a renewed spotlight on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for global oil supplies.
This development occurs as the Iran-USA conflict surpasses 100 days. On June 8, Iran announced the conclusion of its current military operations against Israel, shortly after US President Donald Trump indicated both sides were moving towards an immediate ceasefire following days of intense strikes.
The recent escalation followed Iranian missile attacks on Israel over the weekend, prompting Israel to target military locations in western and central Iran.
Israel also struck Iran’s Karun petrochemical facility in Mahshahr on Monday.
