Live Updates on US-Iran Conflict: The situation between the US and Iran is intensifying as US Central Command (CENTCOM) revealed it has conducted “self-defense” strikes against Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter the previous day.
CENTCOM reported that the operation commenced at 5 pm ET, authorized by President Donald Trump as a “proportional response” to Iranian provocation.
Iran has made it clear it will not relent. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X that despite setbacks on the battlefield, the US has decided to “test our determination,” asserting that Iran’s armed forces will not leave “any attack or threat unanswered.” He issued a direct warning to Washington: “Leave our region if you want to be safe.”
This recent exchange risks further destabilizing the area and raises new concerns about the prospect of US-Iran negotiations, even as Trump suggested the conflict could end within two weeks.
