The new services will commence on April 25, aimed at enhancing air connectivity between Gujarat’s key industrial center and major cities across northern and western India. This expansion will increase Star Air’s capacity by over 17,000 seats monthly.
Under the new schedule, the airline will provide 38 direct weekly flights connecting Mundra with Mumbai, Hindon (Delhi-NCR), Goa (Mopa), and Surat. These direct routes will offer 4,104 seats weekly. Overall, Star Air will have a total of 54 weekly connections from Mundra, along with 16 weekly one-stop connections to Kolhapur and Bhuj.
“Mundra isn’t just a port; it’s a launchpad for India’s industrial and economic aspirations. By connecting Mundra with key cities in Northern and Western India, we’re facilitating trade, business, and opportunities, while ensuring our passengers experience unmatched comfort on every flight. This expansion aims to empower people and industries, setting a new benchmark for regional air travel,” said Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, in a press release.
Travelers on the new Mundra flights will fly on Star Air’s Embraer E175 aircraft, which come with both business and economy class cabins. The airline will provide its renowned onboard service, including hot meals and beverages on all flights.
The airline states that the enhanced connectivity will reduce travel time, fostering new growth in business, trade, and tourism in Gujarat and beyond.
The new Mundra services are now available for booking on the airline’s official website and major travel platforms.
Star Air, the aviation division of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), commenced commercial operations in 2019. Since then, it has gradually increased its presence across India, operating approximately 550 weekly flights to 31 destinations and serving nearly 3 million passengers over the past six years. With Mundra’s addition, the airline’s network has now grown to 32 destinations.
The carrier currently operates a fleet of 12 aircraft, comprising eight Embraer E175S and four Embraer E145S, and plans to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft over the next 36 months.
