Spain climbs back to the top of FIFA rankings as Morocco achieves all-time high position.

World Cup champions Spain have ascended back to the top of the FIFA men’s rankings as of Monday, while runners-up Argentina have slipped to second place.

Luis de la Fuente’s team triumphed over 2022 world champions Argentina with a 1-0 victory after extra time on Sunday, marking their return to the pinnacle of the rankings for the first time since January.

France and England hold the third and fourth spots in the rankings, respectively, despite Thomas Tuchel’s squad defeating Les Bleus to secure the bronze medal.
Brazil has risen to fifth position, while Morocco has made history by climbing to sixth place. Portugal has fallen two spots to seventh after their exit in the round of 16 at the World Cup. Belgium has ascended to eighth, swapping places with the Netherlands, who now sit in ninth.

Mexico has surged four positions into the top 10, and Norway saw the most significant leap, jumping 12 spots to 19th after their quarter-finals appearance in the World Cup.

Germany has dropped out of the top 10, landing at 12th, just ahead of Croatia. Italy, which did not qualify for the World Cup, has fallen to 15th.

Tunisia experienced the largest decline, plummeting 12 places to 57th, while Egypt improved by five spots to 24th and Paraguay advanced seven places to 34th after reaching the World Cup’s round of 16.

Cabo Verde, having reached the round of 32, climbed three places to 64th, just ahead of Ghana, which moved up eight spots.
