PM Modi Launches Final Section of Phase 2 Metro Service in Gandhinagar
On Sunday evening, January 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the final segment of phase 2 of the Ahmedabad metro, finalizing an important transport link between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

This segment connects Sector 10A of Gandhinagar to the Mahatma Mandir convention center.

During the evening ceremony, Modi launched a metro service at the Mahatma Mandir metro station in Gandhinagar, marking the start of operations between these two stations in the state capital, as stated in a release from the state government.
The Prime Minister was joined by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi for the inauguration.

This line, which passes through the Sachivalaya complex, Akshardham Temple, old Sachivalaya, and Sectors 16 and 24, is part of the second phase of the Metro service linking Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

Modi had initiated the metro service connecting both cities back in September 2024.

Following the inauguration, the Gujarat Chief Minister and Sanghavi took a ride on the metro to reach Sachivalaya, according to the release.
