Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have issued a warning for ships to adhere to routes designated by Tehran through the Strait of Hormuz, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attempts to reassure Gulf allies regarding Washington’s proposed deal with Iran. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the West Asia conflict.

Live West Asia War News: Tehran is reinforcing its control over the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has now stated that all vessels must comply with specified Iranian shipping routes and coordinate their movements with the Iranian navy before passing through this critical waterway. It emphasized that any new navigation paths announced without Tehran’s consent are “unacceptable and dangerous”.

This maritime advisory was issued as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio endeavored to reassure Gulf allies who are apprehensive about Washington’s proposed agreement with Iran. During meetings in the UAE and Kuwait, he affirmed that the US would “not take any actions that compromise the security” of its long-standing regional partners.

Rubio’s tour in the Gulf comes as Washington seeks to bolster support for the tentative deal while discussions continue on sanctions, Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and regional security in the long run.

In the meantime, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused Washington of sending conflicting signals regarding the memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict, asserting that contradictory remarks from US officials would only heighten Iranian skepticism. He maintained that the principle of “commitment for commitment” necessitates that both parties fully adhere to the terms of the agreement.

In Washington, President Donald Trump is under increasing political pressure. His administration has requested Congress for over $87 billion in additional funding, despite some Republican lawmakers expressing doubts about the war’s direction during a private meeting, as reported by Reuters.

Senator Bill Cassidy stated that Americans deserve more transparency concerning the administration’s strategy.
