Olympic hockey medalist Gurbax Singh Grewal passed away due to a heart attack in Zirakpur. He was 84. Grewal, a member of the Indian team that won a bronze medal at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, died on Friday.

In addition to his playing career, Grewal worked as a senior sports officer with Western Railways, significantly contributing to identifying and nurturing talent, including numerous players from Rajasthan, within the Railways hockey program.
After retiring in Mumbai, he remained active in sports administration, holding the position of honorary secretary of the Mumbai Hockey Association.
