Naveen Jindal expresses concerns over Anil Agarwal's mention in Vedanta power plant blast FIR prior to investigation.
Jindal Steel chairman Naveen Jindal remarked on Saturday, April 18, that the inclusion of Anil Agarwal in the Sakti Vedanta power plant explosion incident prior to an investigation raises significant issues.

In a post on X, Jindal expressed that the tragedy in Chhattisgarh is “deeply painful, 20 families have lost everything.” He emphasized that proper compensation, livelihood support for the families, and a thorough investigation are essential.

A total of 20 individuals lost their lives following the explosion at the Vedanta power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district on Thursday. An FIR has been lodged against Vedanta Group Chairman Agarwal regarding the incident, which also mentioned manager Devendra Patel.
Jindal voiced concerns about naming Agarwal in the FIR without any preceding investigation. “He is a self-made individual from a humble, marginalized background who created a global enterprise from nothing. He was not involved in the plant’s operations,” Jindal stated in his post on X.

He added that when accidents occur in PSU plants or Railways, the firm’s chairman is not implicated, and the same principle should apply to the private sector.

“Investigate first. Establish responsibility based on evidence. Then take action,” he insisted.

Jindal highlighted that India’s vision for Viksit Bharat requires individuals like Agarwal to continue investing and developing. “This only occurs when investors have confidence in the system,” he remarked.
