US President Donald Trump has shown optimism regarding a forthcoming permanent ceasefire agreement with Iran. However, Iran claims that Trump has made deceptive statements. Iran’s Speaker, MB Ghalibaf, stated in a post on X that Trump “made seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false.”
US President Donald Trump has conveyed hope for a permanent ceasefire deal with Iran in the near future. Nevertheless, Iran has asserted that Trump’s assertions are misleading. In a post on X, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, MB Ghalibaf, remarked that Trump “made seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false.”
He stated that with the blockade still in effect, the Strait of Hormuz would not remain open. The passage through the Strait would depend on the “designated route” and require “Iranian authorization,” he added. “The decision on whether the Strait is open or closed, along with its governing regulations, will be determined by circumstances, not by social media,” Ghalibaf noted.
He emphasized that media warfare and the manipulation of public perception play a significant role in conflict, asserting that “the Iranian nation is not swayed by these tactics.”
The IRGC Navy Command previously announced that civilian vessels would only be permitted to navigate through Iran’s designated routes, while military vessels would continue to be prohibited from entering the Strait, requiring permission from the IRGC Navy for any passage. This regulation aligns with the agreements made during the truce period on the battlefield, following the implementation of the Lebanese ceasefire, it was added.
