In the official notification, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers indicated that manufacturers of formulations or “new dry” under the DPCO, 2013, must set retail prices that do not exceed the established maximum.

Moreover, the announcement stated that any other existing manufacturer introducing the same new drug within twelve months of this notification’s publication in the Official Gazette is allowed to do so at a retail price not surpassing the specified amount.
Among the drugs featured in the list are Tenecteplase (TNK-TPA) Injection, Combikit Darunavir, Ritonavir & Dolutegravir Tablets, Amoxicillin, Aspirin, and Potassium Clavulanate Dispersible Tablets, among others.

This action follows a recent similar initiative where the NPPA capped retail prices for 42 drug formulations. This decision, made in May by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), was in accordance with the Drugs Prices Control Order (DPCO), as detailed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.
