In an interview with IANS in Washington DC, Rubio stated, “I believe it’s going wonderfully. The relationship is very robust. The President had a productive meeting with the Prime Minister at the G7. We are eager to finalize a trade deal; we are in the final stages of making it happen, and the outlook is very positive.”
Rubio further stated, “We anticipate re-engaging in another Quad meeting very soon, and I personally look forward to visiting again before the year concludes to arrange a presidential visit for the early part of next year.”
Regarding the proposed trip, Rubio added, “That’s what we are aiming for—having the President visit sometime early next year.”
He characterized India as a “key partner and ally” of the United States, emphasizing, “The connection between the Prime Minister and the President is incredibly strong, which is crucial in terms of diplomacy.”
Rubio also indicated that both countries are looking forward to another gathering of the Quad grouping.
Concerning trade, Rubio mentioned, “We are hopeful to finalize a trade agreement.”
He reiterated, “We are in the final stages of completing it, and the situation is very promising.”
Rubio commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “Modi has transformed India into a global power.”
On energy collaboration, Rubio noted that India and the United States are closely working together to enhance cooperation, highlighting India’s refining capabilities with heavy crude oil as a critical aspect of their partnership.
