At the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi on Friday, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi expressed that Iran is committed to seeking peace and stability, while also being prepared to defend its sovereignty. He further called on BRICS nations to denounce the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran.

Meanwhile, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted that the ongoing instability in West Asia poses a threat to maritime trade and global energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. He urged for dialogue and emphasized the need for secure shipping routes.

In another development, US President Donald Trump returned to Washington following the Beijing Summit. He stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping shares his views and does not support Iran acquiring nuclear capabilities.
