HCLTech Launches South America’s First Multi-Platform eSIM Transfer Feature

HCLTech establishes an AI hub in GIFT City and partners with IIT Gandhinagar.
HCL Technologies Ltd has been chosen by Brazilian telecom operator TIM Brasil to implement what the companies describe as South America’s inaugural cross-platform electronic Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) transfer capability, enabling customers to effortlessly move eSIM profiles between devices and operating systems.

Powered by HCLTech’s Device Entitlement Gateway, this feature will allow TIM Brasil customers to change smartphones or upgrade devices without the need for replacing physical SIM cards or visiting retail locations. The companies stated that the digital workflow will ensure secure eSIM transfers while upholding high standards of security and reliability.

Facilitating digital transition

According to HCLTech, the service will enable users to shift eSIM profiles among various smartphone brands and operating systems, removing the necessity for physical SIM swaps or manual migrations. The rollout is also anticipated to boost the adoption of next-generation mobile services throughout Brazil.

Commenting on the collaboration, Anil Ganjoo, Executive Sponsor of Brazil and Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Telecom, Media and Technology at HCLTech, stated, “As connectivity becomes more software-driven, operators require platforms that streamline service delivery while enhancing customer experiences.”

He further noted that the partnership merges HCLTech’s engineering expertise with artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled platforms to provide interoperable eSIM experiences, aiding TIM Brasil’s shift toward a more agile, AI-driven, and device-agnostic operating model.

HCLTech shares closed at ₹1,237, reflecting a 0.20% increase from the previous close on the National Stock Exchange.
