Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passes away at 38.
Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passed away on Tuesday, just a day shy of his 39th birthday, after reportedly receiving treatment for a rare and severe immune system disorder at a hospital in New Delhi.

“It is with immense grief and heartfelt sadness that the Afghanistan Cricket Board acknowledges the loss of former fast bowler Shapoor Zadran,” the ACB shared on X.

“Shapoor Zadran was instrumental in the foundational years of Afghanistan cricket, and his dedication, passion, and steadfast commitment were crucial to the sport’s growth and success in our nation.”
Shapoor made his One Day International (ODI) debut in 2009 and played in 80 international matches across various formats, including 44 ODIs and 36 T20 internationals.

The left-arm pace bowler was pivotal in one of Afghanistan’s historic cricketing achievements, scoring the winning boundary in the nation’s first World Cup victory against Scotland in 2015.
