Ben Stokes, the England all-rounder, has decided to retire from international cricket following the current series against New Zealand.
Stokes was involved in a heated nightclub incident with Gus Atkinson and several fellow English rugby players just before the second Test against the Kiwis.
“Ben Stokes departs from the international stage as one of England’s all-time cricket greats and a defining figure of his era. He further remarked, “From inspiring victories in crucial moments—especially leading England to World Cup triumphs in 2019 and 2022 and his remarkable Ashes innings at Headingley—to bravely captaining the Test team, Ben has been an iconic presence in English cricket.”
