Trump claims Iran provided a significant energy-related contribution to the US.
US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that Iran has made a significant energy-related concession to the United States, referring to it as a favorable development, though he did not elaborate further.

Trump implied that the concession was tied to the Strait of Hormuz, the critical oil transit route that the United States has worked to keep secure.

”They provided us with a gift that arrived today, and it was quite a substantial gift, valued at a significant amount of money,” Trump remarked to reporters in the Oval Office.
”It wasn’t nuclear; it was related to oil and gas, and it was a generous gesture on their part.”

Reiterating his belief that the United States had effectively won the war, Trump noted that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was dissatisfied with how swiftly the campaign had progressed.

”Pete didn’t want it to be resolved,” he mentioned, without offering further specifics.

Trump indicated that discussions were occurring with ”the right individuals” in Iran to potentially finalize an agreement to cease hostilities, emphasizing that the Iranians were eager to reach a deal.

”We’re currently in negotiations” regarding Iran, he stated, although he refrained from providing details, especially concerning whether US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would hold talks this week. He confirmed that Witkoff, Kushner, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were engaged in the negotiation process.

Pakistan has expressed its willingness to facilitate discussions between the United States and Iran.
