The authorities in Islamabad asserted that three Indian Air Force jets were downed, a claim that Indian forces have denied.
In response, Pakistan has halted all flights and redirected inbound flights to Karachi. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a National Security Committee meeting at 10 am, stating that “a strong response is already in motion,” in a post on X, previously known as Twitter.
Following the Indian strike, the Pakistan Army engaged in sporadic firing, including artillery shelling, from positions across the Line of Control and the international border in Jammu and Kashmir. Tragically, three innocent civilians lost their lives due to the indiscriminate firing and shelling. The Indian Army is responding in a proportionate manner.
