Yastika Bhatia makes history at Lord's with her first Test century as India sets England a target of 457 runs.
Wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia made history by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord’s, as India declared their second innings at 341 for seven just before tea on day three, setting England a daunting target of 457 runs to win the one-off Women’s Test here.

Resuming the post-lunch session on 91 on Sunday, Yastika achieved her three-figure score in the very first over after the break, taking a single off Issy Wong to celebrate her remarkable maiden Test century.

The left-handed batter ultimately scored 113 off 158 balls, featuring 14 fours, before being one of three wickets to fall after lunch.
Following the dismissals of Deepti Sharma and Yastika, Richa Ghosh accelerated the innings with a stellar unbeaten half-century, scoring 50 not out off 52 balls (8×4) — marking her third Test fifty — as India declared after 86.3 overs.
For England, spin maestro Sophie Ecclestone shone as the standout bowler, taking 5/118 after bowling 33.3 overs. This marked her fourth five-wicket haul.

In the first session, India faced early challenges after resuming on 154/1.

Lauren Bell (2/27) sent overnight batter Smriti Mandhana packing for 70, with the opener only managing to add one run to her overnight total before quickly dismissing Jemimah Rodrigues (3).

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also was unable to capitalize on her start, getting out lbw to Sophie Ecclestone (2/84) for 16 off 34 balls.

However, Yastika, who began the day on 39, remained resilient amid the collapse and transformed the innings with her historic century, putting India firmly in control.
