The board also sanctioned borrowing up to ₹35,000 crore during the financial year 2027-28 via multiple sources, such as domestic bonds.
The proposed loans may encompass secured and unsecured, non-convertible, cumulative as well as non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable, and tax-exempt bonds through private placements. Both borrowing proposals are contingent upon shareholders’ approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

This July, Power Grid Corporation of India announced its success in the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process for establishing an inter-state transmission system project. The company received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on July 9, 2026, for the project named “Augmentation at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh PS, and Kanpur (PG)”.
The project will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model, which involves augmentation and bay extension at the Bhadla-III substation in Rajasthan, Ramgarh substation in Rajasthan, and the Kanpur substation in Uttar Pradesh.
Fourth Quarter Results
Power Grid Corporation of India registered a consolidated net profit growth of 9.7% year-on-year for Q4FY26, amounting to ₹4,546.3 crore, surpassing the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹4,451 crore. The net profit was ₹4,143 crore in the same quarter the previous year.

However, operational revenue declined 5% year-on-year to ₹11,666 crore from ₹12,275 crore, falling short of the CNBC-TV18 poll projection of ₹12,859 crore.
EBITDA decreased by 11.3% to ₹9,066 crore compared to ₹10,224 crore a year earlier, and missed the poll estimate of ₹10,901 crore. The EBITDA margin shrank to 77.7% from 83% in the corresponding quarter last year and was also lower than the expected 84.28%.
The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹1.25 per equity share for FY26, pending shareholder approval at the forthcoming AGM. This final dividend is in addition to the previously paid first interim dividend of ₹4.50 per share and the second interim dividend of ₹3.25 per share during the financial year.
Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd closed at ₹288.30, rising by ₹1.65 or 0.58%, on the BSE.
