In HCLTech’s recent annual report, she noted that the company has consistently embraced disruption as a catalyst for innovation and growth, rather than a threat.
“The technology sector is witnessing a tectonic shift as AI redefines how work is completed, offering enhanced agility and productivity… We consider AI and its related technologies as a significant advantage, opening up broader opportunities and accelerating our growth,” she stated.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, HCL Group has transitioned from founder Shiv Nadar’s vision of making India self-reliant in technology to becoming a global entity that showcases the country’s technology sector. Its achievements include developing India’s first indigenous 8-bit personal computer and delivering numerous industry-first innovations through HCLTech, she noted.
The narrative of the company reflects “grit, conviction, and resilience.”
“That resilience was truly tested in FY26. In the face of cautious spending in technology services, macroeconomic uncertainties, and geopolitical challenges, HCLTech achieved robust operational performance,” she remarked in the annual report for 2025-26.
For the third year in a row, the company achieved the fastest revenue growth in constant currency among its peers, illustrating its differentiated portfolio, scale of execution, and the dedication of its workforce despite a subdued demand environment.
“More notably, we concluded the year with $620 million in Advanced AI
revenue, reflecting our rapidly maturing AI capabilities,” she added.
HCLTech’s Chairperson further stated that the company aims to be the world’s premier AI solutions provider.
“Our intrinsic engineering DNA, our early commitments to intellectual property through HCLSoftware, and our strategic development of a comprehensive AI portfolio alongside our service offerings position us strongly to pursue this goal. We are fully committed to this emerging arena,” she remarked.
Regarding shareholder value, she indicated that sentiment in the sector has been cautious and mentioned that “short-term prices may not always reflect the solid fundamentals we are striving to build.”
She asserted that the underlying business health, encompassing the order book, customer relationships, and deal pipeline, remains robust for HCLTech.
HCLTech CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar noted that AI is unlocking substantial new business opportunities while transforming traditional business models, asserting that the companies that will thrive in the next decade will be those that effectively harness AI’s potential while managing the disruptions it creates.
“We are confident in our capability to implement our AI growth strategy and to continue fostering long-term shareholder value, even as we acknowledge the challenges that may arise from technological shifts and geopolitical volatility,” he stated.
Vijayakumar expressed optimism regarding the forthcoming AI-driven opportunities.
“Our mission is clear: to execute with agility and precision and to secure our position among the leaders in this expansive market,” he concluded.
