Hundreds Saved After Technical Issue with Gulmarg Cable Car
Numerous tourists found themselves stranded on the largest cable car at a Gulmarg resort in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday due to technical issues with the cable car system, officials reported.

Both phases of the Gulmarg cable car service, commonly referred to as Gondola, ceased operations following the malfunction, they stated.

According to officials, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) safely rescued hundreds of tourists who were enjoying the ride.
Efforts to restore the cable car system are currently in progress, they noted.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah mentioned that the government is “closely monitoring” the unfolding situation.

All cabins remain secure, and trained teams are actively conducting rescue operations to evacuate the stranded tourists, the chief minister shared in a post on X.

“The situation is entirely under control, and there is no reason for panic,” he emphasized.
