Speculation is rife regarding the possible inclusion of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, in the Cabinet, according to a report by News18 Hindi.
Key JD(U)-BJP meeting stirs speculation
As the cabinet reshuffle approaches, political activity is surging in Patna. Senior JD(U) leaders Sanjay Jha and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Choudhary recently met at CM Samrat Choudhary’s residence for a pivotal meeting.
The discussions reportedly centered around finalizing names for ministerial positions, with Nishant Kumar’s possible involvement also on the agenda.
This meeting is seen as a crucial move leading up to the expansion.

In light of increasing support within the party, JD(U) MLC Sanjay Gandhi mentioned that many leaders are eager to see Nishant Kumar assume a ministerial role.
However, he noted that Nishant wishes to complete his outreach across Bihar before making any commitments.
“Nishant’s intent is to first finish his tour of Bihar, after which he will decide on joining the cabinet,” he said, as cited by News18 Hindi.
He emphasized that the ultimate decision lies entirely with Nishant Kumar.
Following Nitish Kumar’s resignation, there was speculation about Nishant being offered the Deputy Chief Minister’s position. However, Nishant reportedly turned it down, expressing a desire not to take on a significant role without first being elected.
He aims to gain grassroots experience and contest elections before accepting any responsibilities.
