The only AIADMK member in the territorial Assembly, A Anbalagan, is set to take the oath as the pro tem Speaker on Monday. An official announcement stated that Lt Governor K Kailashnathan will administer the oath and affirmation to Anbalagan at the Darbar Hall in Lok Niwas. Anbalagan represents the Uppalam constituency, having won elections in 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2016. He lost the 2021 elections, conceding his seat to the DMK.
