Party sources indicated that Palaniswami urged the MLAs-elect to stay united and exercise patience.
“Positive outcomes will arise, so it’s essential that you all remain united and patient at the resort over the next few days,” he advised the MLAs.
This development comes amid TVK’s efforts to gain a majority in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. The Congress party, possessing 5 MLAs, has already pledged its support to the TVK.

In the recent TN Assembly elections, the TVK secured 108 seats, the DMK obtained 59, AIADMK achieved 47, Congress got 5, PMK 4, IUML 2, CPI 2, CPI-M 2, and VCK 2. The BJP, DMDK, and AMMK each won 1 seat.
TVK is five seats short of the necessary 118 MLAs to establish its first government in Tamil Nadu.
Puducherry AIADMK state secretary and sole MLA A Anbalagan, along with party officials, welcomed Palaniswami at the resort.
