The co-founder of Superdry, James Holder, aged 54, was convicted by a jury at Gloucester Crown Court of one count of rape, while he was acquitted of another charge regarding assault by penetration linked to a May 2022 incident.

The victim alleged that Holder entered her home without permission after they had met in a Cheltenham bar, claiming he assaulted her after waking from a brief nap. She testified that she cried out as he continued despite her requests for him to stop.

Holder, who is married with two children, denied all allegations, asserting that any sexual activity was consensual.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing, which is set for May 7 at Bristol Crown Court.
