IndiGo will operate the first commercial passenger flight from this airport, soon to be followed by Akasa Air and Air India Express, as per a statement from the airport operator.
The initiation of operations follows its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the successful approval of the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
This approval signifies that the airport’s security framework, systems, and operational procedures meet all regulatory standards ahead of launching commercial services.
Further information regarding flight schedules, destinations, and passenger amenities will be shared in due time, the statement indicated.
Designed to meet the increasing demand for air travel in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh, the airport features modern terminal infrastructure, efficient operations, and multimodal connectivity, the statement added.
The airport aims to provide a seamless passenger experience while ensuring airlines benefit from cost-effective and reliable operational facilities.
The launch of commercial operations is expected to greatly enhance regional connectivity and foster economic growth, trade, tourism, and investment in the surrounding area, according to officials.
Noida International Airport (IATA code: DXN) will link the greater Delhi area and western Uttar Pradesh with key domestic and international destinations. Currently, the facility includes one runway and a passenger terminal with an annual capacity of 12 million travelers.
As outlined in its long-term master plan, the airport aims to increase its capacity to accommodate over 70 million passengers annually in phases throughout the concession period.
Referred to as a “world-class airport,” the statement emphasizes that the facility combines Swiss efficiency with Indian hospitality and will provide a diverse range of passenger services and commercial features.
NIA has also reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions, backed by sustainable design practices and environmentally friendly operations.
