This international rail-cum-road adventure allows travellers to immerse themselves in the stunning Himalayan vistas and the vibrant cultural legacies of both India and Bhutan.
The journey will kick off from the Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station (DSJ). Travellers will explore locations such as Guwahati, Shillong, and Cherrapunji before reaching Hasimara Railway Station, the closest railhead to Bhutan. From there, passengers will be taken to Phuentsholing, the border town and entry point into Bhutan.
Spanning 13 nights and 14 days, this tour offers a premium travel experience. The train boasts deluxe cabins, fine dining options, and upgraded safety features. Amenities also include shower cubicles and sensor-based conveniences.
As per the IRCTC website, the train has a total capacity of 150 passengers, featuring 20 seats in Superior AC First Class (Coupe), 38 in Superior AC First Class (Cabin), 36 in Deluxe AC II Tier, and 56 in Comfort AC III Tier.
The itinerary includes visits to Kamakhya Temple (Mukh Darshan), Thimphu, and sacred sites in Bhutan such as Punakha and Paro.
In Cherrapunji, travellers will have the chance to see attractions like the Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Mawsmai Caves, Nohkalikai Falls, and Elephant Falls.
The package costs around ₹1.5 lakh per person for AC I Cabin/Coupe, ₹1,33,210 per person for AC II, and ₹1,16,545 per person for AC III. The fare covers accommodation in three-star hotels, vegetarian meals, transfers, and sightseeing via bus. Travel insurance is also included.
Key highlights of the Bharat–Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour
The 14-day tour will begin on 5 May 2026 from Delhi. Passengers can also board the train at Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla Junction, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi railway stations.
The train will then head to Hasimara Railway Station in West Bengal, the nearest rail connection to Bhutan. Following that, guests will travel by road to Phuentsholing.
The group will advance to Thimphu and explore locations such as Punakha and Paro. The itinerary also features a traditional dinner, cultural performances, and visits to sacred sites.
At the conclusion of the tour, passengers will return to Hasimara and take the train back to Delhi. IRCTC will assist with cross-border permits, in addition to offering professional tour management services.
