Here's the reason Rohit Sharma had to retire hurt at 19 in the MI vs RCB match.
Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma opted to retire out during the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, apparently due to a hamstring issue. In the sixth over of the chase, Rohit communicated to the dressing room his intention to leave the field as he battled with the injury.

Rohit had begun the innings alongside South African wicket-keeper Ryan Rickelton.

The home team was pursuing a daunting target of 241 and needed a rapid start from their batsmen to take full advantage of the field restrictions in the initial six overs.
Rohit started strong, hitting two fours and a six to score 19 runs off 13 balls.

During Rasikh Salam Dar’s sixth over, Rohit paused to receive medical assistance, managed to face a couple of deliveries, and then informed the locker room of his decision. Suryakumar Yadav took to the crease in place of Rohit.

MI had suffered two consecutive losses and faced a significant challenge to secure vital points from this high-stakes match.

Despite this dismissal, Rohit is not entirely out of the contest. He may still return to play later in the innings. A similar situation occurred during an ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka in December 2022, when he temporarily stepped back due to a thumb problem.

In a gripping run chase, Rohit came in to bat at No. 9 and delivered a commendable half-century, though he was unable to lead the Men in Blue to victory.
