Here's the reason for the delayed start of the RR vs RCB match in Guwahati.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) chose to bowl first after captain Riyan Parag won the toss against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Friday.

The match start was postponed due to rain, beginning nearly 70 minutes later than the originally planned time.

Rajasthan made one adjustment, resting Tushar Deshpande and bringing in Brijesh Sharma. Royal Challengers Bengaluru substituted Jacob Duffy with Josh Hazlewood.
Rajasthan Royals are currently leading the table with three victories from three matches, while defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit in third with two wins from their games.

RR has managed well following the exit of former captain Sanju Samson, who transferred to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a deal that saw Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran move in the opposite direction. Jadeja’s inclusion has provided stability to the RR lineup, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s impressive form has significantly boosted confidence in their top-order.

So far, Sooryavanshi has delivered remarkable performances, including a 15-ball half-century against CSK and 39 runs off just 14 balls against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
